Clint Lowery, Sevendust’s “renegade”

Clint Lowery

After 23 years of musical career, Sevendust’s guitarist, Clint Lowery decides to take his own adventure with: God Bless The Renegades.

In 1971 Clint Lowery was born. 26 years later he would become part of one of the greatest bands of Nu Metal, Sevendust.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Clint Lowery outside of his main band. In 2004, with his brother Corey Lowery (bassist of Saint Asonia, Seether and Eye Empire) formed the band Dark New Days (3 studio albums). I strongly recommend you to take a look.

Hit song:

Not to mention his short time at Korn when Brian “Head” Welch left the band. Clint Lowery himself says that sending him home on the 2007 tour saved his life:

Korn saved my life by sending me home. I was arrested in Slovakia for getting drunk and destroying the hotel room where we were staying.

I look back and I’m so glad it happened, because something like this had to happen for me to recover.

It seemed “poetic justice” that I replace a person who left his band so that he could be with his family, detoxify himself and be saved by the Faith, and that his replacement fall on the same stone and have to do the same.

Clint Lowery

This solo album is REALLY GOOD. Without a doubt, you can see that these are the fingers that write the very powerful Sevendust riffs, as well as that melodic voice that can remind us Lajon Witherspoon, but in all that mix we can appreciate that the album has personality wherever you look.

Looking for the path after Three Days Grace

Saint Asonia

Saint Asonia, Adam Gontier’s super band after 21 years leading Three Days Grace.

At the end of 2012 and only 2 weeks away from starting the tour with Shinedown and P.O.D. to promote their album “Human“, Adam Gontier leaves Three Days Grace without giving specific reasons.

After Adam’s departure, Mike Mushok, Staind‘s guitarist, was the first to contact him, to give him moral support and sit down to write music as pure entertainment.

Hit song:

Finally in 2015 and almost without wanting it, after showing a demo with the single Better Place, Saint Asonia was born, joining the band Dark New Day, Eye Empire or Seether bass player, Corey Lowery (brother of Clint Lowery, guitarist of Sevendust) and drummer Rich Beddoe, then on Finger Eleven.

Burden of the Sky, ashes to ashes

Burden of the Sky

Burden Of The Sky, American Hard Rock/Metal alternative band, born in 2012 in Bloomington (Illinois).

Cinis Ad Cinis, the band’s debut album, was released in 2017. Their single Same Old Page, has more than 800,000 views.

New album expected to be released this year, until then we can find their singles Sirens and The Puppeter.

Hit song:

The truth is that there isn’t much information about them, but if you like bands like Sevendust, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle or Evans Blue, Burden of the Sky won’t leave you indifferent.

When Creed and Alter Bridge are not enough, we look for Tremonti

If you were a Creed fan and now an Alter Bridge follower, we recommend you to listen to the parallel project of his lead guitarist, Tremonti.

His last and fourth work, A Dying Machine, continues in the path of his previous albums, distinguishing from his fellows from AB, being the sound harder, heavier and faster, where Garrett Whitlock’s double bass drum is devastating.

Why did he come up with the idea of creating Tremonti? Mark himself explains that he had written many songs and hated the idea of not being able to show them, simply because they didn’t match  with Creed or Alter Bridge.

Hit song:

The first album had the collaboration of Brian Marshall, bass player from Creed until today with Alter Bridge, but later was replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen, son of the greatest Eddie Van Halen.

For all those guitarists who follow the blog, tell you that the first albums were released by the record label Fret12, managed by Mark’s brother Dan Tremonti. It’s also an online store, where you can buy instruments, including material used by Mark Tremonti in recordings and concerts.

This page is also known for recording video tutorials of metal artists (The Sound and The Story), such as Jim Root (Slipknot and Stone Sour), Bret Hinds (Mastodon), Clint Lowery (Sevendust)…

Sevendust… 21 years on the wave’s crest

May I present to you, one of my favorites bands that have been with me since my senior year until these days, plus today they present their eleventh album, All I See is War… without further ado: Sevendust.

Not many bands can say that they’ve been playing together for 24 years without any changes in the line-up, this means 11 studio albums, 1 acoustic album, Time Travelers and Bonfire, and a live concert that I invite you to check it out, Southside Double-Wide: Acoustic Live.

Hit song:

In addition to this post, I recommend that you listen to parallel projects by members of Sevendust, such as Dark New Day with guitarist Clint Lowery and his bass brother, Corey Lowery. Or Projected, formed by John Connolly and Vinnie Hornsby (Sevendust guitar and bassist, respectively), Scott Phillips (Alter Bridge drummer) and Eric Friedman (Tremonti guitarist).
